Abstract

Transportasi benih ikan koi (Cyprinus carpio) dengan sistem basah tertutup berpotensi meningkatkan stres, konsumsi oksigen, dan mortalitas akibat keterbatasan ruang angkut. Minyak sereh (Cymbopogon nardus), yang mengandung sitronelal, geraniol, dan sitronelol, berpotensi digunakan sebagai sedatif alami untuk mengurangi respons stres selama transportasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh dosis minyak sereh terhadap kelangsungan hidup benih koi serta menentukan dosis yang paling efektif untuk transportasi sistem basah tertutup. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dosis minyak sereh (1, 2, 3, dan 4 mL/L), masing-masing enam ulangan. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 30 ekor benih koi berukuran 10–12 cm yang diangkut selama lima jam dalam kantong plastik berisi 8 L air dan oksigen murni. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis minyak sereh berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup benih koi. Dosis 2 mL/L menghasilkan survival rate tertinggi sebesar 97,78%, sedangkan dosis 1, 3, dan 4 mL/L masing-masing menghasilkan 79,44%, 57,22%, dan 15,00%. Selama transportasi, kualitas air masih berada pada kisaran layak, yaitu suhu 25,8–26,4°C, pH 6,8–7,2, dan oksigen terlarut 5,2–6,8 mg/L. Dengan demikian, dosis 2 mL/L direkomendasikan sebagai dosis efektif minyak sereh untuk meningkatkan keberhasilan transportasi benih koi pada sistem basah tertutup.
